Our classes have been developed to ensure that your child is being taught all 4 strokes with safety skills and other skills included.
Each level meets both the STA’s and Swim England’s criteria and we pride ourselves on being fully inclusive and can cater for all needs, whether a 1:1 or group lesson is the best fit for your family.
Group swimming
Group lessons are run at all of our locations. Our class sizes are small and dependent on the pool size, which will dictate numbers per class. We are very proud to have our instructors in the water, with assistants in the pool as well to support our instructors.
This means our teacher to child ratios are very low.
One-to-one swimming
Across all of our locations, subject to availability, we can offer more bespoke 1:1 lessons. Each session is 30 minutes in length and can be geared to the learner.

About our swim school
Debbie, our owner, has been involved within the watery world of swimming for over 35 years.
Ast came out of her passion to deliver the best standards of swimming tuition she possibly could. Over many years, she has seen the growth and development of swimming and is proud to be involved in giving everyone the confidence and ability to love the water.
AST is very very proud to say all of their staff have joined the team, after experiencing AST lessons, first as either participants or being parents of participants. We support, nurture and train all of our team to be the best they can be.
All staff:
- Undergo regular training
- Have current Safeguarding qualifications and DBS checks
- Are required to complete extra learning yearly
- Have the love and passion to deliver the best swimming lessons
